In the early 80s, Nicolas DESSAUX has to forsake his agricultural exploitation in the Cévennes and gets his diploma of mountain guide. From the start, Nicolas desires to make other discover, trough original circuits, the South that he knows so well.
Also he still had in mind the travels he used to do, when he was a child, in Italy with his father. He sets up a first tour in Tuscany, mixing hiking and cultural discovery. Little by little, there are more destinations to offer, and other passionnate guides join Nicolas... CHEMINS DU SUD has just been created. |

No so well-known than Kerry or Connemara, Burren is very wild and rich in celtic remains. The flora is particularly diversified and interesting. Int he legendary Connemara, mountains and lakes form a very particular atmosphere. At nights, music and beer are everywhere... Day 1 Fight: Paris - Shannon. Transfer to Lisdoonvarna, a lively small town in the heart of Burren. Overnight in a lodge. Day 2 and 3: We'll use our accomodation in Lisdoovarna as "headquarter" to visit this attractive region with our private bus. Caves of Ailwee Cave, Mullaghmore etc.... Discovery of "ring forts", "Wedges tombs", dolmens as well as many roman churches and castles... Day 4 and 5 Hike to Doolin, passing by the famous cliffs of Moher, some as high as 216 m! the day after, hiking along the sea around Black Head. Accomodation in Doolin. Day 6 islands of Aran. Hike in Inishmore, the biggest island. Return to Rossavael in late afternoon. Transfer to Oughterard. Obvernight in B&B Day 7 Rest in Oughterard on the edge of the lakes (loughs) Agraffard and Boffin. Day 8 - 11 Hike : Oughterard - Clifden in the national park of Connemara, along the "Western Way", down the Twelve Bens and Maumturks. Valley of Inagh, Corrib lake, Kylemore, Ballynahinsh . Visit of the heart of the national park. Transfer to Galway in late afternoon. Day 11 Party at Galway; restaurant (not included in the price), pubs, music, Guiness, Smithwicks!!! Day 12 Visit of the city in the morning. Flight to Paris. Level accessible to all - 4 to 5 h waling daily. Short transfers by car. Accompanying staff: qualified Accomodation: 3 nights in villas (twin-room) in Tavira. 3 nights in hotel in Lagos. no possibility of "single" room. Group: maximum 14 people Meeting point: saturday, Paris' airport We leave each other : Next Saturday, Faro's airport |
