Wild West Tour # 1
A Harley Davidson Guided Tour 8 days, including best of Route 66
Day 01 Los Angeles – Arrival Today you arrive at Los Angeles International Airport and take the hotel shuttle to your hotel. There will be a hospitality desk in the hotel lobby and your local EagleRider representative is available to give you information along with a detailed tour itinerary for your trip. Overnight.
Day 02 Los Angeles - Palm Springs
After our Welcome Breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the EagleRider Headquarters to pick up your Harley Davidson. Once all formalities are cleared we are on our way, head south and ride the winding mountain road down to Lake Elsinore. This ride is a sport rider’s dream – lot’s of sweeping curves mixed with S-turns and straights. After lunch at Lake Elsinore we ride further east…the cool air warms as you soar like an eagle into the open country of the San Jacinto Mountains, and into the desert. We head for Palm Springs, where we overnight.
Day 03 Palm Springs - Laughlin
From Palm Springs we head north-east towards Joshua Tree and ride a loop through Joshua Tree National Park. You can see amazing colors, rock canyons, and more kind of cacti than you ever knew existed. At Twentynine Palms your trip gets legendary appeal, as we enter Historic Route 66, which is our road all the way up to Laughlin. We will ride through the Mojave Desert, which offers some of the most dramatic scenery in Southern California, rolling with lush grasses, startling volcanic formations, large stands of Joshua Trees, and in some spots pinon pines. We cross the state line into Nevada and arrive in Laughlin, where we overnight.
Day 04 Lauglin - Grand Canyon National Park
We continue our ride on legendary Route 66 into Arizona and it’s off to Kingman, which is considered to be “The heart of Historic Route 66”, as it’s situated in the middle of the longest remaining stretch of the old “Mother Road”. From Kingman you head for Seligman, another one of the longest surviving stretches of Route 66, which heads off in a northern loop through the Hulapai Indian Reservation. From here it’s on to the old western town of Williams, where we stop for lunch. Williams is your gateway to the Grand Canyon – from here only a short ride up through the Grand Canyon National Park. Be prepared for one of the greatest sights man has ever seen – the majestic Grand Canyon – we arrive in time for the reddest sunset you’ve ever seen. Overnight.
Day 05 Grand Canyon National Park - Monument Valley (Kayenta)
We spend the morning at the Grand Canyon and then we’ll cruise along the South Rim for a few miles and leave Grand Canyon National Park at the east entrance. Now it’s off to the incredible Monument Valley. This is Navajo Country here and you are in for an authentic Navajo Lunch today. The classic Wild West landscape of stark sandstone buttes and forbidding pinnacles of rock, poking from an endless expanse of drifting red sands, has an archetypal image. Only when you arrive at Monument Valley you will come to realize how much your perception of the West has in fact been shaped by this one spot. Such scenery does exist elsewhere, of course, but nowhere is it so perfectly distilled. We head for Kayenta, where we overnight. Get into an Indian spiritual mood tonight…

Day 06 Monument Valley (Kayenta) - Bryce Canyon
From Kayenta we will ride up to sleepy Mexican Hat, briefly a frenzied gold-mining camp, which takes its name from a riverside sandstone hoodoo – it actually looks like a south-of-the-border sombrero. We ride on to the Valley of the Gods, where much of the movie “Thelma and Louise” was filmed, and cross the Colorado River where it pours into Lake Powell. Lake Powell has 1960 miles of shoreline, which is more than the entire Pacific Coast and 96 water-filled side canyons. We ride along the southern tip of Capitol Reef National Park, on to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and roar on up to the Devil’s Backbone through the Escalante Wilderness en route to Bryce Canyon, where we overnight.
Day 07 Bryce Canyon - Las Vegas
This morning there will be time to visit the amazing Bryce Canyon before we continue to Zion National Park. Besides seeing the most beautiful rock formations found anywhere on earth, you are in for a most challenging ride here – the switchbacks of Zion! Compared to Yosemite and the Grand Canyon, Zion exudes a stronger sense of nature. Here, you and your bike make immediate contact with the environment. From Zion it is only a short ride into the neon and gambling oasis of Las Vegas. Tonight we will have a “Good Bye” Dinner in Las Vegas.
Day 08 Las Vegas - Departure
This morning at 10:00am we will drop off our bikes at EagleRiders’ Las Vegas location. Transfer to the airport on your own in time for your departure flight back home.
